Second Posting from Germany Trip

University

Augustinian monastery in Erfurt (Luther's monastery).

The spot where Luther laid prostrate to take his monastic vows as an Augustinian monk---really amazing---thanks for this trip.

Luther's dorm room was in this house when he attended the University of Erfurt.

City church of Erfurt. Luther preached here once trying to convert the city. Half the city (with the largest churches) remained Roman. The other half became Lutheran.

We are in for the evening (we are 6 hours ahead of you) and heading to Eisenach and the Wartburg Castle tomorrow where Luther was in hiding and translated the New Testament into German.
